My friend dalia's baby was baptised last sunday. It was great seeing a lot of pinays that i haven't seen for a while and Dalia and a bunch of girls cooked a lot of pilipino foods. As expected, we ate a lot and what's so great about it was, talking and laughing with the girls about anything and everything. Too bad some people didn't make it. Our husbands were there too, so they had their own group in one corner and i'm sure wondering what the heck we were talking about. I always wonder how we sounded to them. Poor guys, they had to listen to a lot of gigglings from us girls. I have to say though that these guys are very accommodating to their women and goes wherever we go. Thanks Dalia to a wonderful party and great food. Hi Von......................
My youngest son is sick. He's been out of school since tuesday with a 101.5 fever. My husband was sick the whole weekend so i think he gave it to him. Since my son is only 9 yrs old, it is harder for him and he's such a baby when he gets sick. He wants me all the time and won't let me go anywhere but with him. I'm the kind of person that's always doing something and moving around so it's hard for me to lie down all day long doing nothing. Ohhh gotta go, i can hear him calling me again........
Sorry, i wasn't able to do anything else but rest. When we got back, I had so many appointments that i'm still tired a week after our trip. Anyway, the very next day of our 2 day trip to Disneyland, we went to universal Studios. By this time i can barely walk, but i noticed that as soon as you start walking around you forget that you're tired and then you get into this mood of having fun again. You realized you're in there to have fun so i was ready for the day gain. The first thing we did was the Tram ride of course. There's so many new thing they added to that ride that it lasted for almost an hour to finish the whole thing. There were some areas that they closed off because a shooting was going on. Westeria Lane of desperate housewife was closed. It's actually fun watching other people from diff Countries react to this tour. People around you speaks so many languages and it's facisnating. Well after that, we had to go to Jurrasic park ride right away. Wait for the ride was only 5 minutes so we went through it like lightning.....until the drop............Did i tell you there was a big drop at the end of the ride? I knew that from experince before but somehow i allowed them to convinced me again to take this ride with them. I have pictures to show how scared i was with that drop. Never again.....Well, the animal show was hilarious, my son was laughing so hard my husband and I just watched him the whole time and we were laughing AT HIM and not so much of the show. And of course The Waterworld never fails. It was as fun as ever especially when they start pouring water at people. It was a long show but half of it was entertaining the audience by the actors themselves. At the end of the day, i was reminded again how tired i was and Ohh, when we left Universal Studios that day we drove another hour to met up with our firends and their kids for dinner. My son and i were asleep before we hit the freeway. Poor husband had to drive for us. After dinner, we drove back to las Vegas and got there around one o'clock in the morning and slept the whole day...i think.....
So went went back the next day. Our hotel was walking distance from disney so we left a little early to get there before ten o'clock, when the park opens, but when we got there the line was already long and in fact, they started letting people in before ten. Oh well, we figured we can still get as much ride as we hoped. We decided to checked out California Adventure first since we've never been there. It's right next door and their newest park. Most of the rides there are for adults but my son found this water ride The Grizzly Bear(??) really amazing, his word, so he went back there over and over again and got so wet in the process. I didn't go to any of them cause i'm a wimp when it comes to rides. I let them two go everywhere and i followed them around. Yeah, that's what i thought, what a way to go to a park.......
So off we went to the other side again, The Disney park and hooked up with our son's classmate and his mom and brother and one of the teachers in our son's school. what do you know???? before we left Colorado, we all found out we were all going to California and Disneyland at the same day so we decided to meet up there and we did. What a fine day to really get to know each other and the kids we're all having fun. We pretty much let them decide what ride to go to and what to do next. But the adults were able to get a few rides here and there. A good thing we already went to the park the day before and stayed till closing time which was 12 midnight so we pretty much did a lot of things. One lucky thing we did the night before was Indiana Jones ride. We did it a few times and we found out the next day that the ride was closed for the day so a lot of people were disappointed. By this time, our feet was killing us but still, we're not going anywhere until the park closed. And ohhhhh, did i tell you we're going to Universal Studios the next day???????? Till then.......................
We had our first day at Disneyland yesterday and it was awesome. The park was open till midnight so of course we had to stay till midnight. The parade started at 6:30 then the fireworks and then the water show that used to be Fantasia. I've been to disneyland so many times from my oldest daughter who's 23 years old now, to my son who's 17 and now my 9 year old, but i never get tired watching the water show. Now they added new characters like Toy Stories and it never fails to amazed me..... oh... gotta go.... we're going back to Disneyland again....tell you more later.............
We made it. We drove all night but had to stop a few times to sleep. I drove a little bit but my husband couldn't sleep when i'm driving . I think he's worried that i'm not awake enough to drive so he's up too which made us both very tired and therefore had to stop a few times. Well, we're finally here and did a lot of things already. I took my son to diff places, watch the show at The Mirage and Bellagio, chased a lot of boats at the Venetian Hotel(he wants to know where it starts and ends) but he likes chasing them so much that he would do it again and again and again until finally i said STOP...I'M TIRED.. cause i had to follow him everytime running around in a very busy hotel full of people. I did notice a lot of people in Vegas this time. I was here New Year and it was dead. I came back a few months ago and still not much, but this time, it looks like the old Vegas we all know. Very busy outside and full of people, it's very diff from my last two visits this year. Could it be???????????????
The wedding is this afternoon and we're picking up friends at MGM Hotel. My husband and son are in the gym trying to get off some of those dinner last night. I think i better join them...till later.
I think a lot of us heard about typhoon ondoy that devastated a lot of cities in Manila. Last count, we lost 250 lives and lots of homes. I have 2 sisters that lives in Pasig near Ortigas which i heard was one of the areas affected. One lives in Valle Verde and the other one lives nearby, in kapitolyo, and didn't hear anything from both of them. I tried calling them but there was nothing at all on the other side so i figured there was no electricity any where so maybe that's why i can't call them. I sent them e-mails and that didn't help either, maybe because no electricity?????????????? So i sent them a text message hoping that at least they have a phone working, and still nothing. I'm beginning to worry about them and wondering how i can reach them. I'll try calling other sisters, maybe they heard from them somehow. I was scheduled to go home Sept 13th to 30th but cancelled it because my husband was so busy at work that he can't take care of the kids while i'm away. Now i think it was meant to be or i'll be stranded there and won't be able to make it for ourtrip to Vegas and California. We're leaving tonight but i'll keep trying to find out if they're ok.
I'm tired. I can't find anything to wear for saturday. We're going to Vegas tomorrow for a wedding this saturday and i'm still looking for the right dress. You know what's going to happen, i'll end up wearing clothes that i already have in my closet. If only i lost more weight befor this wedding, i would have been happier.
My youngest son had a haircut yesterday and asked me if he can have a mohawk without shaving off his hair(it's really more of a spike but he said it's a mohawk) and so i let him do it and boy, he was so happy that he said "MY DREAM CAME TRUE, I"M A MAN NOW". Everybody in the shop heard it and all started laughing. He looked so cute and adorable. By the way he's 9 yeras old. He wants to keep his mohawk as long as he can.
It's been raining this week everyday that i didn't walk or run outside. I don't like using the treadmill as much because i get bored easily but i can't go out. I missed my morning run or walk and i want to do it again soon. I swear i can feel my stomach getting bigger and bigger for lack of exercise. I do my wieghts and crunches but i need to run. I think it's phychological that i feel this way but hey, that's how i feel. I should really try to stay longer in the treadmill this time and run as much as i can because i hate this feeling. Oh well, Let you guys know.
Tomorrow is officially the first day of Fall season but what do you know? Today it started snowing... SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't that a little early???and i'm not sooooo ready for the snow yet. I feel like i missed out on summer because it was raining all the time. My friend was telling me that for the last few weeks, her cat has been growing her fur for the coming winter. Well, that's not what i want to hear so i asked her," Is that realiable information? as in, you know, do you really believe that we're going to have a bad winter?" She said yes....It happened before....uh oh...My husband is already talking about snow tires when we go to Vegas next week because we're driving. A few years ago, we went to Vegas for Thanksgiving and on our way home, we got stuck for HOURS PEOPLE.....HOURS....in I70 and the tunnel section. It was our first year here in Colorado when it happened so i was traumatised. So now my husband wants snow tires just in case.....I'm thinking it's a little early for that but.......maybe we should.
Well, aside from it's very very very very cold today, I hear it's going to be like this the next few days. I can see my heating bill going up up up and away.......Till tomorrow.
